Advisory House System

“Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.” President Obama

STRADFORD PREP: A SCHOOL, A COMMUNITY, A HOME.

In the fall of each year, students will also be grouped into advisory houses.Stradford Prep student body will be divided into subunits called 'houses' and each student will be allocated to one house at the moment of enrollment. The advisory house system will allow students to receive peer to peer mentoring as well as guidance from teacher leaders and male members of the community. Living and learning with the same group a people over an extended period of time will help shape a student’s character development. Using the Elements of Effective Practice for Mentoring Standards, published by My Brother’s Keeper Alliance’s and MENTOR: The National Mentoring Partnership and our school’s core values, our program will provide students with experiences that leads to social and emotional growth that will allow them to reach their full potential.

There are four houses at Stradford Prep:

School Hours and Community Meetings
